Explore and navigate this vast open world, where danger and unpredictability lurk around every corner. Traveling to Kyrat to fulfill your mother’s dying wish, you find yourself caught up in a civil war to overthrow the oppressive regime of dictator Pagan Min. In a way it's similar to consoles and exclusive titles: you want to play the games, but you don't necessarily want to buy all consoles to play them when one machine could theoretically suit all your needs.Hidden in the towering Himalayas lies Kyrat, a country steeped in tradition and violence. But that doesn't mean I have to like it - not when Steam has become my platform of choice. I understand the business end of publishers coming up with their own digital delivery platforms, and I even understand EA's stance that they'd rather not use Steam at all. On the one hand there are people who overreact on the other there are those who fail to understand that not everyone wants multiple digital delivery services installed let alone running at the same time, adding additional layers between (in most cases) Steam and actually playing the game. Some people get more frustrated than others. Then pop up a "fiends list" that is just a long ass list of people that have been in GFWL games (and 360 games I guesss) that I´ve played.Īnd then find the 2 people I acctually added myself in that list, and then they get the game invite as some sort of message in their normal inbox.īut they got rid of that nonsense in the expansion where you could just simply invite and join over steam.Īnd at the end of the day, the games are STILL readily available for those who wants to pirate them.Īll these accounts for all kinds of 'services' that often add nothing but annoyances can be frustrating.
It´s like the bullshit they pulled with the original Dawn of War 2, I login on steam, launch the game, then to play with my steam friends I have to walk them through the arcane process of getting on Games for Windows Live, for no good reason at all. I bought some AC game on steam and got as far as the UPlay login screen and just closed it out of sheer annoyance then and there, and have still not touched the game.īought Anno 2070 the other day and was hit by the same goddamn thing.
If I could just launch assassins creed and play it on steam, without having to log in AGAIN, I would be that much happier. I want to be able to buy Battlefield 3 on Steam, cause I have **** all use out of Origin outside of what is forced upon me if I want to play certain games. (and they all get hacked, so at some point you´ll be spending more time changing passwords them playing games)
It´s kinda like everyone trying to make WOW clones after WOW hit so big with the logic of "then we can also have as many millions of subscribers". Now that it´s been shown to be very popular and work out great, they all crawl out of their holes and think that if they also create similar services they´ll make as much money. The way I feel about all these services is that Valve foraged ahead with Steam, most publishers weren´t very happy about digital distribution and most of all have pushed to keep the prices above retail for no good reason at all other then not to anger "the mighty retail".
